Custom-K9 Dog Training & Boarding (formerly Positive Energy Dog Training) has been helping the dogs of the entire Bay Area and beyond develop a delightful relationship with their Pet Parents since 2020.

We are a group of diverse trainers who believe in relationship-based and balanced training. We believe that training built on trust and kindness is one of the most effective methods. When you have a respectful relationship with clear communication, your dog will want to spend time working with you.

Our techniques are effective in teaching new behaviors and altering current ones. By reinforcing behaviors you like and want to continue, you set your dog up for success. Regardless of your dog’s age and past experiences, we believe in knowledge and understanding of how to use tools and methods that give them the best chance to live happily and comfortably in our hectic world.

Finding a daycare that meets your dogs needs is difficult. We have taken our dog to 2 other daycares prior to custom k-9. Thankfully we found custom k-9 about a year ago and have been taking our dog Mochi ever since. The structured daycare and group training have really helped with Mochi’s behavior and obedience training. The trainers are so kind and always offer us advice and tips to overcome any behavior challenges that come up. They are able to answer any of our questions. During group trainings Jeff and Marwa have been very supportive. They take their time to explain behavior interventions for our dog and modeling what to do in a situation. We have recommended custom K-9 to family members and they have shared the same great experience as us. We would definitely recommend custom k-9 to anyone looking for training/daycare for their dog.

I’m so happy with the work Custom K9 did to my dog, Obi. The main reason I took Obi there was to work on his socialization skills with other dogs. The results have been amazing and I couldn’t be happier. I loved that they took Obi out on field trips to expose him to different environments. I’ll forever be grateful to the team there. They really are great people.

My dog loves this place and so do I. I have worked with Custom K9 on individual training and have also had my dog in the puppy training camp and have even had her board with them multiple times. My dog learned so much from the structured daycare and she came home so tired and happy! It was honestly the best. My dog has some anxiety around men and can be skittish. The trainers were so helpful. They even took her on a field trip to the mall to work on training around strangers. They really go above and beyond. The pic of her in daycare says it all.

I have nothing but praise for the owners and staff of Custom-K9 Dog Training & Boarding. They have provided a professional and friendly atmosphere for our Bernedoodle from the onset with puppy training to three years later now with structured day training, boarding when needed and weekly group training sessions. Always there to help with suggestions for any questions or issues that I may be having with my dog regarding her personal training needs. Their ability to view a dogs actions and immediately recognize a specific approach to correct or alter the dogs behavior while also providing guidance to the owner is nothing but top notch. I will continue to use Custom-K9 dog training and boarding indefinitely. I highly recommend Custom K9 Dog Training and Boarding.

I am so pleased with Custom-K9 Dog Training and Boarding that I can't recommend them enough. I have 2 litter mate male terriers that are a handful for me to walk, socialize, train and board. Yet the trainers at Custom-K9 Dog Training and Boarding were able to get my dogs to be social with other dogs at the facility, be calm and happy, and take directions. I am even more grateful that I have found a place where I can leave my naughty dogs during vacation. At Custom-K9, I don't have to worry that my dogs may freak out or terrorize other dogs. Thank you Custom-K9 for all that you do for my dogs!

The team at Custom K-9 are anbsolutely amazing. They have helped me tremendously with my pit bull puppy, Buddy, who was “given” to us from an animal hoarder when he was only 4 weeks old. My husband recently passed away and he was the one who handled Buddy. I couldn’t walk Buddy and I was afraid of taking him around people; I did not socialize him properly. Marwa, Jeff, Beckie and the entire team have helped Buddy and me find hope and Buddy is a new man! I can walk him anywhere, he loves going to daycare and he loves everyone at Custom-K9. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs help training their dog.

The team at Custom K9 has been wonderful to work with! Our dog Penny had a great time during her board and train and they were very communicative on her progress, how we could continue to keep up the learning, and what the next steps would be. Prior to this she was very reactive towards other dogs when out and about with us and now she couldn't care less and just minds her business! We're excited to keep up with her continued training with Custom K9

The staff here are great! Very friendly and professional. Both my my frenchies, Nova did the day training and she loved it. Then I decided to put both my frenchies, Nova and Zaza into the night boarding, and I felt at ease. The staff always kept me updated and sent photos while my dogs were there, they are very responsive whenever I reach out to them to check on the dogs, and so I was not worried about them because I trust the staff. I will be continuing to bring my dogs here. And I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Custom-K9 Dog Training & Boarding!

Marwa was so patient with our dog Minnie. She had a terrible anxiety. I took Marwa's 6 days of special daycare training package and one private lesson. That's all it took, my dog who was scared of everyone was putty in her hands. I saw results instantly, watching her work with Minnie was like nothing I've seen before. It was as if she was having a real conversion with our dog and she really understood her, it was worth every penny.

I am so glad we found positive energy! My rescue pup was under socialized with other dogs and was struggling with reactivity. We purchased a private training package and Marwa & Jeff worked with us to truly help my girl overcome it. They brought their own dogs to help her practice, and then we moved on to lessons in busy areas where we knew dogs would be around. They also helped me train her with the e-collar which has been a game changer for us. Now we attend the group trainings every Sunday and my dog has improved so much that she is now able to go to their structured daycare to socialize freely with other dogs - something I thought might never be possible! I love Jeff & Marwa’s overall calm, understanding demeanor and know that they truly care about my dog and helping her improve. I can’t say enough good things! So thankful I found them 🙂
